Gym Must Haves
Since it is a new year, most people will make their New Year's Resolution to get fit. Below is a list of my 5 must have gym items.
- Fitbit - I own the Fitbit Flex. It was a birthday gift last year. The Flex tracks many things. I can track steps, calories, and my sleep. All of those things are automatic. I can also track things like my food intake, other exercise activities, and my weight loss. There is an app you can download on your phone and you will have all of this data at your fingertips. You can also view this data online. The Fitbit is a really good workout tool to track your progress.
- Water Bottle - Tervis tumbler water bottles are really great at the gym and on walks. The water bottles do not sweat and the handle is great and easy to carry.
- Good Shoes - I cannot stress this enough. We have a shoe store in Huntsville called Fleet Feet. They put you on a treadmill to view how you run and pick out the right shoe for you. These shoes are amazing and totally worth the cost. I recommend visiting a similar store in your area and trying this out.
- Headphones - I use my Apple EarPods that came with my iPhone. Whatever headphones you are comfortable with will be best. I use my headphones either plugged into the machine at the gym to watch TV or into my phone for my podcast (see below). I get pretty bored without them, that is for sure!
- Good Music/Podcast - If I am not watching TV at the gym, I am listening to one of two podcasts: WDWPrepSchool or DisUnplugged. WDWPrepSchool has one podcast a week. It is published on Sundays. It is usually 20-30 minutes long. It is always about some sort of planning technique/advice. It is really helpful if you are planning a Disney World Trip. DisUnplugged is a live podcast on Tuesdays. There are two one-hour podcasts. The first hour is about Disney News. The second is usually some sort of Disney related topic. The topics range weekly. The podcast are usually available on Wednesdays on iTunes.
