Guest Bedroom Welcome Basket

Guest Bedroom Welcome Basket

We don't have overnight guests over often, but when we do, we like to do something special for them.  Below is an easy idea to make your guests feel welcomed and appreciative if they have forgotten anything!

Get a nice large basket that can hold towels.  We used this metal planter style basket.

I filled it with towels that our guests could use so that they did not have to search for them.  For each guests I have a bath towel, hand towel, and wash cloth.

Next I added toiletries that can be easily forgotten.  I wrapped the toothbrushes in the wash clothes and nicely placed the other toiletries throughout the basket.  I was sure to get both a men's and women's shampoo.  I used travel size items or samples that I had so that the basket wasn't overwhelmed with large bottles of shampoo.

If you have a really large house, it might also be nice to put some water bottles or even a coffee maker in the guest room.  Our kitchen is only feet away from the guest bedroom, so that isn't too logical for our guests to have.  Another nice add on would be some local reading material or local take home gifts.  Adding local magazines might be nice if your guests are going to be in town for an extended period of time because it might give them some ideas of things they can do around town.

When finished, I just placed the basket at the foot of the bed for them to see as soon as they arrive!
