DIY Infant Tutu
For the Alabama/Ole Miss football game, Brad and I agreed Melody should wear a "house divided" outfit. I designed a onesie, and she had some red pants. But I thought a tutu would be perfect. So I made my own so that it could also be "house divided". My best friend and I also have made tutus for all the holidays to wear with cute onesies we are making the babies! Check it out below!
Items Needed
- Small Crochet Headband (I bought mine from Amazon, but Hobby Lobby has them as well)
- Tulle - two colors work best
- Scissors
- Clipboard (9-12 inches wide) - optional but helps with cutting tulle
- Round Tin - optional but this helps hold the headband in place
Instructions
1. Wrap the tulle around the clipboard numerous times...I think it takes around 35 or so times if you plan to cut it on both sides...it really depends on how long you want the tutu
2. Cut the tulle on the sides
3. Do the same for all the tulle...I used 3 colors since I was doing house divided. One side was red and white and the other side was red and blue.
4. If you decided to use a tin, wrap the headband around it.
5. Group two pieces of tulle together
6. Take the tulle and pull it through the bottom of the headband.
7. Tie the tulle in a knot.
8. Continue until all the holes on the bottom level are filled in
9. All done!!
