Dragoncon Outfits

Every Labor Day weekend an event called DragonCon is held in Atlanta, GA.  In 2014, my husband and I went for the first time just for one day.  We really were not sure what it was all about, and we already happened to be in Atlanta for Ole Miss and Alabama football games.  So we spent the Friday before Labor Day checking it out.  It turned out to be so much fun, we decided to go back in 2015 for the entire event weekend.  This was Friday-Monday.

The great thing about DragonCon is that it literally has something to offer anyone.  Whether you love Star Wars, DC Comics, Power Rangers, Anime, Disney, Star Trek, Game of Thrones or any other fun genre of entertainment, you can find something to do or see at DragonCon.  There are numerous panels that go on every day, all day.  Some of the panels include celebrities from your favorite shows (William Shatner, Stephen Amell, Patrick Stewart, Danielle Panabaker...just to name a few).  Other panels are made up of super fans that just enjoy discussing whatever it is they are a fan of (we went to a Star Wars Rebels panel last year full of fans of the Star Wars franchise where we discussed the new show and all things Star Wars).  You can attend a fun parade that is offered on Saturday full of celebrities and Stormtroopers.  You can also meet your favorite celebrities during Meet and Greets offered throughout the weekend.

Lastly, we have almost just as much fun people watching.  A LOT of the attendees will dress up in lavish costumes for the entire weekend.  They even have costume contests for said people.  We have had friends participate in this, and they are known to bring a costume for each day of the Con.  My husband and I are not quite that devoted to DragonCon...yet.  So below is what I actually wore during our 2015 trip to DragonCon.  I tried to be cute, comfortable, and slightly costume-y to fit in with the crowd!

Day One

The first day I decided to wear a pink Power Ranger shirt.  I found this shirt at Hot Topic.  My husband bought a green version so that we could match.  I paired the shirt with a solid black skirt.  I don't really make note of my shoes in any of the pictures.  I wore gray Skechers GOwalks.  They are super comfy, but cute at the same time!

**Side note...my husband thought it would be an amazing idea to bring Melody home from the hospital wearing a Power Ranger onesie (yes, we have one for her) while he wore his green Power Ranger shirt, and I wore my pink Power Ranger shirt.  Unfortunately, the pink Power Ranger shirt did not fit my pregnant self...unfortunately...

Day 2

So our second day at DragonCon was a Saturday.  Both Alabama and Ole Miss had football games this day.  We also knew we would be going to some Star Wars panels this day.  Brad was easily able to incorporate Ole Miss into his attire using his Ole Miss baseball cap.  I didn't care for this option.  Instead, I found a shirt at Walmart that was both Star Wars and Alabama.  How neat and ironic was that?!?  I paired this with blue jeans and an adorable Chewbacca hair bow.  Brad wore a neat t-shirt that was from Star Wars and had The Imperial March sheet music on it.

Day 3

Our third day was a pretty busy day, so I went extra comfortable.  I wore an ankle length navy and baby blue skirt.  I paired this with a simple solid white t-shirt.  I incorporated Disney by wearing a Frozen hair bow I bought from Hot Topic.  It matched my skirt perfectly!  Brad wore a fun Nintendo shirt that I bought him a year or so ago.  He saw it on Cisco from The Flash, and I was able to find the identical version of it online for sale!

Day 4

Our last day we knew we would be traveling home after the panels, so we dressed comfortably as well.  We planned to go to a Disney panel this day, so we made sure we wore our Disney gear.  I wore a knee length solid black skirt.  I paired this with one of my Disney Parks shirt (Mickey and Minnie kissing).  I also made a hair bow that I used as well.  Brad wore his Star Wars Weekend shirt from our honeymoon trip to Disney World.
