Baby Shower Mini Diaper Cake
I made a larger diaper cake for my best friend's baby shower, but I decided to use some of the other diapers and ribbon I had left over to make "mini" diaper cakes. I am a huge fan of decorating with items that can either be given to the guest of honor as a gift or that you get to keep yourself. These diaper cakes doubled as cute décor and a much needed gift for the mommy to be. See below!
Items Needed
- Approximately 7 Diapers
- Rubber Bands (enough for one per diaper)
- Curling Ribbon
- Scissors
- Cute ribbon (approximately 1 inch or larger)
- Item for a "cake topper" - headband, small stuffed animal, teether, etc.
- Hot Glue, Glue Dots, Safety Pin, or some other adhesive
Instructions
1. Roll each diaper and secure with a rubber band
2. Group the diapers together into a circle. All space should be filled unless you plan to use a cake topper that needs to sit in the middle. If so, you will need to add the cake topper in now.
3. Secure the diapers together using curling ribbon.
4. Remove the rubber bands from the individual diapers
5. Cut enough of the larger ribbon to make a complete circle around the diaper cake
6. Attach the larger ribbon around the diaper cake using some sort of adhesive. I find use a safety pin the easiest
7. Now add your topper and you are all set!
