Melody's First Christmas
Forgive me for being MIA for a few weeks. We have been caught up in all of the Christmas festivities and just enjoying that time with Miss Melody. Speaking of which, I wanted to share with you all of the fun Melody had over the Christmas holidays. We sure were busy. Check it out below!
The first of our Christmas gatherings was with our very best friends. We all went out to dinner so we had no cleanup, then we came back to the house and exchanged gifts. Melody and Lydia are finally starting to interact with one another! And Melody unwrapped her very first present. Of course, she is more interested in eating the paper than anything else!
Next up was our first Christmas trip to Memphis. We spent the morning at my in-law's country club visiting Santa at breakfast! Later that evening, we had family dinner with my father-in-law's family!
It's been a tradition of Brad and mine to go to a really nice restaurant every Christmas for "our" Christmas dinner. In years' past, we have never actually been home for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. We have always spent it at one of our parents' homes. This year we had planned to be home, but we also wanted to continue our tradition of eating at one of our favorite restaurants in town. It is called Grille 29, and it is yummy. Below are some pictures from our yearly tradition with one new member.
Next up was Christmas with my family. We spent a couple of days before Christmas with them. This included Christmas with just my immediate family and a gathering with our extended family too.
We came back home from my parents the day before Christmas Eve so we could spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at home. We really wanted Melody to experience Christmas at home and not somewhere else. I know she isn't old enough to remember, but it's something we really wanted. So below are some of the pictures we took both Christmas Eve, Christmas morning, and Christmas Day afternoon before leaving to visit more family. Oh and a side note, we decided Santa needed a coke to give himself a caffeine boost with how busy he is ;-)
On our way back to Memphis for Christmas with Brad's family, we stopped by my parents to at least visit with them on Christmas Day for a hour or so. I was able to get a picture of my grandma and Melody. So precious!
After we visited with my parents, we headed to Memphis for Christmas with Brad's family. We had Christmas with both his mom's side of the family, then we had Christmas with just his immediate family. As a bonus and not Christmas related, we spent our last day visiting Graceland for the first time, then we had dinner with some of the family.
