Camping with Nana and Grandpa

Camping with Nana and Grandpa

My parents recently went on a RV trip to Safe Harbor RV Resort in Nashville, TN.  Their first night happened to be on a night Brad was traveling for work.  I decided to tag along for the one night since he wouldn't be home, and it would give Melody and I something fun to do.  We've been camping with my parents to a few campgrounds, but this was the first time we have been to this one.

We left after Melody's finished gymnastic class on a Thursday.  I followed my dad who drove the RV.  I took my own car so that I could return the next day.  My mom happened to already been in Nashville working as well.  It took about two hours or so to get to the campground.  We arrived around 2, and we immediately got settled in.  They had a really nice spot within the campground {although there wasn't much of a bad spot based on our drive around}.  Melody relaxed while we got everything set up.

I also got her tablet set up while we were waiting on getting the cable hooked up.  And I finally changed her out of her leotard!

After my mom arrived, we decided to take a walk around the campground.  Melody LOVED the playground!  She had a breakdown every time we left it!

The pool closed at 6, so we decided to head over and take a quick dip.  They had a fun kiddie pool that Melody loved being able to walk in and out of herself!  We also spent a few minutes in the big pool since there was no one else there.

Below are some pictures of the entire pool area.  They had a pretty large regular pool and a small kiddie pool.  There was literally no one there when we visited, but there were PLENTY of pool chairs.  Outside of the pool gates was a nice seating area.  It had TVs, a fireplace, and plenty of tables and chairs.  It would be a great place for a group of friends to meet up.  The only negative was that the pool closed at 6!

After our pool time, we went back to the RV and grilled hot dogs for dinner.  Melody was able to play outside some before dinner.  My parents brought her some of her toys from their house.

Then after dinner, we promised her that we could go back to the playground.  She truly did love it.  It is one of the better playgrounds we have visited.  There was plenty of stuff for her to do, and there were some tables nearby for us to sit back and watch her play.

Not long before dark, we headed back to the RV so that Melody could get a bath and get to bed. While the water warmed up, she watched the Muppet Babies (her new favorite show) with Nana.  Then she took a quick bath and headed to bed!

The next morning, Nana made us chocolate gravy and biscuits for breakfast.  Melody loves it!  She ate SO much!

After breakfast, we let her go up to the playground again for a bit.  I decided to just let her go in her pajamas since they were already covered chocolate gravy!  My mom had to leave for work while we were still at the playground, but we let Melody stay for a bit longer.  She even made a new friend while there.

After a while, we finally made her come back to the RV and cool off and change clothes.  She was so hot from all the running around.  I let her rest for a bit and have a small snack while I got ready.  Then we left around noon and headed back home!

We had a lot of fun for a short trip.  I hope they camp there again because it was really nice.  Of course Brad claims it isn't real camping, but it is perfect for us, ha!
