Father's Day Crafts

Father's Day Crafts

I always find Father’s Day crafts just a bit harder than any other craft. I don’t really know why. This year I found the perfect crafts for our dad’s, but Brad was the hardest one of all. I eventually found something online I liked and went with it. I ideally wanted things that involved her footprint, but she is awful when it comes to putting paint on her feet. This means I need Brad’s help which would ruin the surprise. So we went another route.

Dinosaur Handprints

So Brad’s dad (Bob Bob) started telling Brad and his brother Jeff Fred and Jed stories as kids. And both Brad and Jeff do that for their girls. Fred and Jed are two dinosaurs who go on adventures together. Well on occasion Bob Bob will step in and tell the stories (see a cute picture below from Melody’s birthday party weekend). So I decided to do a dinosaur craft using Melody’s hands. It was really easy and could be used for more than Father’s Day for sure! You can change up the saying to make it more fitting for your gifting occasion. And instead of having Melody sign the front, she signed the back simply because she writes SO big, ha!

Hammer Footprint

So my dad is the fixer upper. If we need help fixing something, he is who we call. I mean he built himself a garage bigger than their house to work on cars and such. Melody loves it! So I made a hammer using her foot, and then made nails out of her fingers. Since her foot was so big, we used a whole sheet of paper so she could also write her name on the front. She is also obsessed with writing “I Love You” which is super sweet too!

Age Handprint

Now for Brad’s craft. I opted for a more traditional poem with a handprint. The poem references her age and date so he can always look back and compare. She also wrote on the back of it. I may laminate it or frame it depending on what Brad wants to do with it!
