Fall Break - Day Two
We went to Pigeon Forge this year for fall break. Brad was unfortunately traveling for work. So we made it a girls trip including my mom. We found a good deal on a fun hotel, and we used our season passes for Dollywood to give us some additional fun. Emily’s family also was there for a part of a trip giving Melody someone to play with at times. We had a lot of fun, and I have a lot to share! Here is day two!
We decided to sleep in since Dollywood was closed on this day (Tuesday). When we got up and got ready, we headed to explore our resort some before grabbing lunch. We explored the pumpkin patch area then did a quick craft. We walked to Applebee’s for lunch since it was literally in the parking lot. It was not the best experience, however. They were just super slow and the food was mediocre at best.
After lunch, we headed back to the room, and we changed into our swimsuits. The resort had an amazing indoor pool and waterslide. Melody was slightly nervous, but once she went down the slide once, she was hooked. A neat bonus is the resort has “popsicle patrol” that comes around and gives out free popsicles. The kids loved them. And all Melody wanted to do was get in the lazy river outside. It claims to be heated, but it was NOT. We placed Melody in the float because she was not going to go all the way into the pool because it was so cold. She immediately came out and ran to the hot tub, ha.
For dinner, we headed back to Aubrey’s. Emily’s group hadn’t been yet, and it was perfect for our group. And it was amazing as always!
After dinner, we came back to the resort and went to the pumpkin patch. The girls were able to paint a section of a piece of art they had. Then we let them purchase a pumpkin to paint. They loved this, and they let us leave them there to dry. Once we were finished painting pumpkins, we walked around the lit path of carved pumpkins and looked around. Then we ended the night with a visit to one of the playgrounds.
