New Appliances
Back in early 2021, we renovated our kitchen. We added a backsplash, lowered the bar counter, got a new sink and faucet, and added under cabinet lighting. We knew we would eventually need new appliances, but we were not in a rush to get them. However, we were having some small issues with our dishwasher, and I was desperate for a fridge with a water dispenser. After the stimulus check back in March of 2021, we decided to start researching new appliances.
The hardest part of buying new appliances was finding a place that would sell them to use. We first went to Lowe’s. They currently had a deal with LG appliances, and that is what we were wanting based on our experience. They only had 1 of the 4 things we wanted in stock. They would not let us order the other 2 things since they were backordered (even though we didn’t care when we received them, we just wanted to order them). So we left.
Then we ended up at Home Depot. Thankfully they were able to sell us what we wanted. Some of their things were backorder by about a month. So we would not receive anything until then. But we were ok with that. We also got a much better deal there than we would have gotten at Lowe’s. We basically got our fridge for free in the end once they added all of the promotions up.
While we received all 4 appliances the same day, they could only install the fridge and microwave. We had to schedule with a local company to install the oven and dishwasher. The fridge has been AMAZING. We kept our old fridge, and it actually contains all of our sodas and waters. It is in our garage. I love having a water dispenser again (bye, bye BRITA pitchers!). And we have dual ice makers too!
The dishwasher was installed around a week later. No issues were involved with it, and it all looked so pretty. Our dishwasher has a third rack which has been great for all of the cooking we do. We literally run our dishwasher daily.
When they installed the dishwasher, they were supposed to install the double ovens. However, they did not fit. The measurements from their website did not account for a small lip that the ovens had on the back. So we were literally off by maybe an inch. They could not fix it, so we had to figure something out. Our kitchen guys were busy, so we called my dad over. Basically we removed the shelf above the ovens, and raised it the necessary inch(es). We were afraid the cabinet doors were going to be an issue. So we left them off until the guys came back out and installed the ovens. The doors fit just perfectly, and it all worked out in the end.
The stainless steel makes such a huge difference. We absolutely love our kitchen!
