April 2022 Carnival Cruise Day Two
Our second day of our Carnival Cruise in April was a day at Nassau. We have been to Nassau many times, and we really had no desire to go this time. With the COVID restrictions, it just didn’t seem like it would be much fun. So we decided to spend the day on the boat and hopefully enjoying a mostly empty one at that.
We decided to eat breakfast in the dining room. We still ordered room service for breakfast, but it is continental style. I don’t remember ever really eating breakfast in the dining room, and the menu looked really good. We checked in on the app around 9:30 am, and our table was ready with 5 minutes. This dining room was different than our dining room in the evening. It is much harder to get to as well. It is in the back of the ship and doesn’t have a good direct way to get to it. We had to go down 2 floors, walk to the back, then go down another 2 floors. But the view from this dining room was really nice. Mom and I each ordered the broken egg sandwich. It was really good, but it did take over 20 minutes to get it.
After breakfast, we headed to the coffee shop and got the puzzle of the day. We sat outside of the casino and worked on it while looking at Nassau.
After about 30 minutes of relaxing here, we headed to our room to get ready for the pool. We found a fun towel animal, and we noticed lots of people getting off both our ship and the Disney Dream next to us. We went upstairs and found us some chairs next to the main pool. I don’t know that we have ever been next to the pool before due to the crowds. It was really nice.
Around 12:30 we went and had lunch. We went inside the Lido restaurant and went upstairs to try their BBQ. I had read that their mac and cheese was great. We also got some chicken. Based on what we saw, I didn’t expect the chicken to be a chicken leg however. I also went and got a burrito from BlueIguana Cantina. And we ended lunch with ice cream.
After lunch, we decided to head up to the Serenity area. It’s the adult only area. We found a clamshell, got some drinks, and just relaxed.
Eventually it got hot, and we also knew we would be leaving Nassau soon. That meant we only had a bit of time left to call Melody and Brad before we lost service. So we went down to our room, called them, then got ready for dinner. It was formal night which meant fancier food at dinner.
After dinner, we roamed the ship before heading to the first showing of Flick. It was an interesting show to say the least.
When we got back to the room, we found some cookies left for us for being suite guests. Then we called it a night around 10. The next day was Princess Cay, and we knew we had an early morning!
