2015 Budget Workbook
I decided to take the budget worksheet that I use monthly and make it a template for others to use. I have linked my 2015 budget workbook here. We personally use this every month. Feel free to make any changes to it that fit your needs. Below is a breakdown of the worksheets within the workbook:
Instructions
This page will list all of the instructions for how to use the template as I have set it up. On this page, you should edit any of the green cells to be what fits you and your family. While you can edit the cells that are not green, I do not advise it because each cell ties directly to each worksheet and could interfere with the headings. Below is a screenshot of the instructions tab.
Yearly
The yearly tab will roll up the budget sheets from every month. This may not be useful to everyone but I think it is neat to have at the end of the year, or at the beginning of the year for planning.
Entry Tab
This is where you will enter all of your transactions. Brad and I keep a receipt basket. I attempt to go through this basket once a week. I sort each receipt based on what it was for. If a receipt was for multiple things, I note it on the receipt. I then enter it on this tab. You need to make sure you categorize everything correctly. After entering the receipts, I go to our different accounts and make sure what has cleared and label it. This is just an option, not a requirement. Below are two views, one blank and one with one entry.
Budget Tab
Everything you enter with a proper category in the entry tab will flow into the corresponding budget tab. This allows you to see overall where you stand.
I hope this spreadsheet will help you. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to email me at brittany@pinkglitterpumpkins.com.
