Le Cellier Review

Le Cellier Review

As you may have read in my previous post, Brad and I just returned from Walt Disney World.  We went back to celebrate our two year anniversary.  For our actual anniversary, I knew we would be in the parks, so I wanted us to eat somewhere really nice.  We decided to eat at Epcot since there our countless nice restaurants throughout the World Showcase.  I decided we should try Le Cellier.  Brad loves a good steak, and I read that the steaks here are amazing.  Since we were not on the dining plan, I decided we should try as many 2 dining credit restaurants as possible.  This one did not disappoint.  See below for pictures and review!

Menu

Overall Review

We arrived at Le Cellier around 6:30 p.m.  We checked in inside and were told that we would be seated as soon as possible, but there was no guarantee that we would be seated prior to our reservation time of 6:50.  Within about 5 minutes, the host was calling our name and walking us to our table.  He gave us a brief history lesson about the dining room, but I really can't remember everything!

Our waitress arrived a few minutes later ready to take our drink orders and told us a little bit about the menu.  We were both simple and just ordered cokes.  When she returned with our drinks she took our food order.  Even though Brad is against appetizers, I was able to convince him otherwise on this trip.  Still on our search for Pollo Campero french fries, we ordered some Le Cellier Poutine.  I also really wanted to try their Cheddar Cheese Soup, so I ordered it too.  We both ordered Filet Mignon for our entree, mine Medium Well and Brad's Rare.

Quickly after our orders were taken, we were brought out some bread.  There were three pieces.  The pretzel roll, whole grain roll, and what looked like a traditional dinner roll.  It was accompanied by some of the best butter at Disney! Since there were only three rolls, we split each in half.  My favorite by far was the pretzel roll.  It is just so unique in a bread basket.  Typically you just receive traditional dinner rolls at dinner, so this was a nice change.

Our Cheddar Cheese Soup and Poutine arrived shortly after.  We were given the option to either have the red wine reduction poured on top of the poutine or on the side.  I opted to have them pour it on top.  Brad wasn't the biggest fan of it, so when we return, we will keep it on the side, and I will just pour it on what I eat.  Of course this did not stop him from eating these delicious fries.  We have determined that this is the closet we are going to get to Pollo Campero french fries for now.  The french fries are hand cut and topped with cheese and the red wine reduction.  They are absolutely delicious and will definitely be ordered again.  The cheddar cheese soup was also really good.  It was, however, extremely rich.  It was just too much food for what all we ordered.  I think if I was going for a light lunch, I would definitely order this soup.  I also remember it being part of the Food and Wine Festival in the past, and I suspect I will order it then if I return during that time.  It is worth trying if you are looking for a great soup to have while at Disney.

Our dinner arrived pretty soon after our appetizers.  So soon, we were not finished with our appetizers and we asked that they leave them during our meal. We didn't eat much more of them, but I wanted the option.  And honestly, I am not a mushroom lover, so I was afraid that the mushroom in the risotto would really stand out and not taste good, so the remaining poutine was going to be my backup.

Fortunately, everything was amazing with our entree.  The filet mignon was cooked perfectly.  At most steakhouses I order my steak well done because they can never cook a steak medium well, but Le Cellier had no trouble with that!  Brad's rare steak was also cooked perfectly.  The risotto was really great too.  The mushrooms were whole so I was easily able to remove them.  I am not a fan of the texture of mushrooms, so I hate when I get a dish that has them chopped throughout.  Our entree was so good, we pretty much did not touch our appetizers during the rest of the meal.  We were asked if we were interested in dessert, but with the amount of food we had, we were beyond full.  Plus our original intent was to have dessert in France (which did not happen due to our fullness!).

Overall, I can guarantee we will eat here again.  It was really great food and a fairly decent price considering all the food that we ordered.  In the future, we will probably only order the Poutine as an appetizer along with our two entrees.  The environment was really nice and not too stuffy.  Similar to the California Grill, it is so expensive, you still don't see too many children.  So if you are looking for somewhere to go that has minimal children while eating, eat here.  And again, the food is well worth the expense!
