Ikea Pictures Frames

Ikea Pictures Frames

So we made our first trip to Ikea around a year ago and we loved it!  It can definitely be overwhelming at first, but our second trip in April was much easier.  The first time we went, I bought a really cute picture frame that held 3 pictures.  I had a great idea of how to display one of our wedding shots using it.  I wanted to frame a series of pictures from when Brad first saw me in my wedding dress.  Because there were so many shots from that moment, I went with these three shots:

I added them to the picture frame recently and I think it turned out really great.  My only concern with this Ikea purchase is the frame is cracked and somewhat broken on the corner.  Unfortunately this is not something you would really notice in store since the corners are covered up with cardboard.  I don't really think anyone will really notice unless they are looking for this blemish.  The other negative is the picture sizes aren't your typical sizes.  I ordered 5x7s for these, but they are a little big.  So I just kind of made them work.  I don't think they look bad, but if you are wanting it to be exact, good luck!

The other adorable frame I purchased was back in April.  At that time we had not really displayed many wedding pictures.  We have a few bridal pictures around the house and a couple of 4x6s, but no big wedding photo anywhere.  Since we were married on the beach, I thought this frame would be perfect for a larger wedding photo to display above the mantel.

Again, the picture sizes are not exact.  I ordered a 12x18 poster from Walmart, and it worked.  It was two inches too big, but I just shifted it down so a little bit of my dress didn't show.  The only big negative here is that it does not have any glass protecting the photo.  There was a large piece of plastic that leads you to believe there is glass in it, but it doesn't work.  I mean, I think it looks good the way it is, but just another heads up.

Overall, I love Ikea and their picture frames are great.  Just beware that you get what you pay for.  Don't expect too much, and there is always a chance it won't come with the hardware you need to hang it, or you have to install it yourself (we had to do this with the three-picture frame).  Both of these "flaws" will not keep me from purchasing frames from Ikea again!
