Surf Hut - Destin, FL
Surf Hut is about a year old in Destin, FL. It is your typical shrimp basket restaurant. We have been there twice. This review is of our second trip. The waits can get long, so arrive early or plan on having appetizers at the bar area.

First off, I had the Blonde Bombshell. It is really great and refreshing drink, especially at the beach. It is basically strawberry lemonade with vodka! What can go wrong with that? To top it off, there are fresh strawberries in the drink too.
I ordered the Fried Stuffed Shrimp. I am drooling as we speak! It was amazing. It is 6 shrimp stuffed with crab meat dressing, wrapped in bacon, then fried! Of course this is far from healthy, but you are at the beach, right? There are three sauces that come with it. None just stood out as amazing, but you really don't need a space for theses amazing shrimp. The mashed potatoes were pretty good. The vegetables were sautéed squash and zucchini. It too was pretty good. I will be ordering this again for sure!
Brad ordered the Blackened Mahi Mahi without any sauce. I love anything blackened, and this was really good. Brad of course liked it considering he devoured it pretty quickly. He ordered it with a side of french fries. Those too were good.
I would definitely recommend eating here for anyone that is looking for somewhere different and local to try. It overlooks the ocean and has a good bit of parking available. When we last went, the lot was still gravel, but maybe they will pave it soon. Just arrive early! We arrived around 5:30 and just missed the rush!
