Baby Shower Corsage
For my best friend's baby shower, I decided to make her a corsage rather than go buy a generic flower one. A ribbon corsage is actually really easy to make and it makes is a little more special since it is something they can keep forever since it won't die like a flower one.
Items Needed
- Backing from a Ribbon Package
- Various Size and Color Ribbon
- I had pink and gray 1 inch ribbon; 3/4 inch elephant ribbon; and 1/2 inch pink and gray polka dot ribbon and "It's a Girl" ribbon
- Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Wooden Popsicle Stick (optional)
- Cardstock
- Cute Paper Punch (optional)
- Pin Clasp
Instructions
1. Cut about 5 pieces of the larger ribbon 12 inches long
2. Hot Glue each piece of ribbon onto the back from the ribbon package. You can do this in any order you wish. You can see how I did this below. I also used the wooden popsicle stick to help push the ribbon down onto the backing instead of using my fingers since the hot glue is so...hot.
3. Cut about 5 pieces TOTAL of the smaller ribbon 12 inches long
4. Hot glue each piece onto the other ribbon. Again, the design is up to you.
5. Cut about 8-9 pieces of the large ribbon 5 1/2 inches long
6. Fold each piece in half and hot glue the ends together
7. Hot glue the folded pieces around the ribbon package. Again, the design is up to you.
8. Cut about 12 pieces TOTAL of the smaller ribbon 4 inches long.
9. Fold each piece in half and hot glue the ends together
10. Hot glue the folded pieces around the ribbon package on top of the previously added ribbon. The design is up to you.
11. Now you need to fill in the open space in the middle. I used a cute paper punch to punch a piece of cardstock out. The punch was 2 inches round. I hot glued this in the center of the ribbon.
12. As added decoration, I printed on cardstock "Mommy to Be" and hot glued this on top of the center piece I just added.
13. Now flip over the corsage and hot glue the pin clasp on the back. Be sure you center this!
14. Now give to the mommy to be at her shower!
