DIY Hairbows
To match my Disney outfit while at DragonCon in 2015, I made my own hair bow. The one I made was really quick and easy! See below:
Items Needed
- Hot Glue Gun
- Variety of Matching Ribbon
- Scissors
- Hair Clip
- Floral Wire
Instructions
1. Take your largest piece of ribbon and cut it the length you will want for your hair. It will be ultimately folded in half, so take that into consideration. I cut about 12 inches of ribbon
2. Fold the ribbon in half at an angle (see the picture below)
3. Take a smaller piece of ribbon that matches, and cut it a few inches shorter
4. Fold the ribbon in half with the ends in the center and overlapping. Place directly on top of the larger ribbon
5. Pinch the ribbons in the center and secure with the floral wire
6. Flip the bow over and take a thin piece of matching ribbon and cut it a few inches and place it underneath the floral wire
7. Take your hair clip and hot glue it directly onto the bow as well as one half of the ribbon from underneath; it should cover the floral wire
8. Now hot glue the other side of the ribbon from under neat to the hair clip; your floral wire should be completely concealed now
9. Now your hair bow should be ready to go!
