Cold Brew Coffee

Cold Brew Coffee

I have always seen the Today Show's Steals and Deals, but I have never found anything I really wanted or could justify buying.  Well Brad and I love to buy and make iced coffee.  One day they had a steal for a cold brew coffee maker.  It was $24 for the coffee maker as well as the travel bottle.  The total of those items were $55, so that is quite a bit of savings!

We have only tried to make the cold brew coffee via the coffee maker itself and not the travel bottle yet.  Here is how we went about it below:

I literally just followed the instructions in the manual for the coffee maker.  We used ordinary coffee as well.  We let it sit for the required amount of time.  We were actually disappointed in the cold brew itself.  The process was easy, but the coffee didn't taste any different in our opinion.  Of course this was the first time we had cold brew coffee in general.  I ended up having to add cream as well as simple sugar (since the coffee was cold).

Overall it wasn't awful, but I am not certain it was worth the effort vs just brewing coffee.  Especially since I had to make simple sugar.  We plan to give it another try soon with some flavored coffee and see if that helps!
