Disney on Ice
Melody's first Disney on Ice experience was last year. We decided to take her again this year but with Emily, Justin, and Lydia. The show was in Birmingham which is only about 1.5 hours away, so we were able to day trip it. Read about our experience below!
We arrived about 30 minutes before the show started. Parking was fairly easy, and so was getting in. It was much more crowded than our first experience, but it was a Saturday morning. We went to the very first showing of the morning. I originally planned for the girls to run around some before the show started, but the crowds prevented that from happening. The boys spent some time wandering, so Emily and I were able to block the girls in but let them walk a bit in our aisle.
We had fairly decent seats. We were on the lower level, but the very top row in the last four seats. It turned out to be really great for us.
Unfortunately Melody slept the entire first half of the show. On days she takes two naps, she usually naps around 10:30-11, and the show started at 10:30. I thought for sure the loud noises would keep her awake, but nope!
At intermission, the boys went and got us snacks. There was no one sitting beside us, so I moved down to allow Melody to have her own seat. She sat and ate some cheez-itz as well as some of our nachos. She actually stayed awake the rest of the show and seemed entertained by it
I am not sure if we will go see another showing next year. We may if Melody will stay awake and actually enjoy it. We will see! Either way, I think the girls enjoyed the show (at least what they watched), and it was a fun day of Disney and a little bit of shopping too!
