Baby Travel Checklist
Before having Melody, we traveled all the time. Whether it was a visit to simply see family or small trips to the beach or even large trips to New York, traveling is a part of us. After having Melody, traveling did slow down, but we still traveled quite a bit. In the last six months we have tried to make an effort to slow down on traveling. But traveling cannot be avoided. So I decided to try and make it easier.
In the early days, I would make a physical checklist for Melody for each trip.
After this proved to be exceptionally time consuming and I would often forget something, I decided to make a digital version. I created two documents
The first document is a Word/PDF document that is a very basic checklist. It breaks items into multiple categories, and it allows you to add items as needed.
The second document is an Excel document that helps you determine items the basic checklist. For example, the spreadsheet helps determine how many outfits you may need for a trip. The spreadsheet is broken into 3 worksheets. The first two tabs depend on if you have a washer or dryer or not. The last tab is where you enter information. Complete the yellow cells or override cells if needed.
I must admit, I override a lot of the numbers in the Excel document, especially now that Melody is a toddler and doesn't need all the items found in the spreadsheet. These documents are by far not all inclusive. I have been working with this list for over a year, and I have added things as needed. However, things my child needs may not be the same as your child. I do use this for every single trip we take, even weekend trips. I may not always print it, but I do complete it.
