Be Our Guest Breakfast - Revisited
My mom and I just returned from my annual birthday trip to Disney World (here is the planning info and trip report). While there, we revisited Be Our Guest for breakfast. It is definitely our favorite breakfast reservation to make. I have reviewed Be Our Guest before (here and here), but the breakfast sandwich that I raved about in the past has changed. So I wanted to do a quick update in regards to that and show off some pictures.
First off, the new menu is below. Right out of the gate you can see the price has increased from my last reviews. It is now $24 vs. $19.99. So for 2 of us, it was $51.12 (receipt below as well). This isn't a dramatic increase for 2 people, but if you have a large family it may be.
There are also some food changes visible on the menu. They no longer have the Eggs Florentine on the menu, but instead they have the Feast a la Gaston. I think Brad will be excited about this change because he didn't really see anything on the original menu that stood out to him. I think this new addition will. The other notable change for me was the change in bread used for the Open-faced Bacon and Egg Sandwich. It is now on a croissant. There may be a few other changes similar to the bread change on other menu items, but we didn't try any of those.
Mom and I decided to eat in the Rose Gallery since we had never dined in there before. It was really pretty and there was plenty of open seating. My favorite room is still the West Wing because it is the best themed. The big problem with the West Wing, however, is that it is too dark and loud.
The pastries haven't really changed any. Below is the original pastry platter they brought us. Mom asked if we could get one more chocolate croissant by chance. It never hurts to ask, right? The sweet server brought us an entire additional platter of pastries instead of just one! Sadly for our waistline, we finished almost all of them!
Now onto the main course! Mom and I both ordered the Open-faced Bacon and Egg Sandwich. It has always been our favorite, but we were a little sad about the bread change. I loved the bread before, so it was going to be hard to top that. Below are pictures of the sandwich. I must admit, it was better than I expected it to be on the croissant. I still prefer the original bread, but this wasn't an awful change either. The previous bread was easier to eat in my opinion. Now there are two slices of bread, which makes it harder to eat and a little less like an open-faced sandwich to me. I think I would have preferred if there was not cheese on the top piece of bread. I felt like I had to make it a traditional sandwich and cut it from that. It was still really good, but it was not as filling as the previous version. The change won't keep me from ordering it in the future for sure!
