Storybook Treats

During our trip to Disney World in March 2023, we took advantage of the Facebook group “Ear for Each Other”. It is where castmembers who were laid off during COVID could post different business ventures. One properly option is where different people deliver various goodies to your resort. After looking around on the page, we decided to reach out to Storybook Treats. We were uncertain if they could deliver to Shades of Green (they can!), and once we received confirmation, we decided to order some treats for the trip.

Sci Fi Dine In Theater

During our March 2023 trip, we spent our second day at the Disney parks (third day in Orlando) at Magic Kingdom that morning and Hollywood Studios that evening. We had a big, late breakfast at Cinderella’s Royal Table, so we didn’t do a real lunch. We decided to make a dinner reservation at Sci Fi Dine In Theater once we secured the plans for Magic Kingdom. Melody had never been there, and I hadn’t been there since our trip with friends in 2014

Everything Pop Dining - May 2021

During our recent Disney World trip in May 2021, we stayed at Pop Century. During this time, there were still a lot of COVID protocols going on. [I am not sure when you are reading this as to the accuracy of how things are in the present, so keep that in mind.] With these changes, I wanted to refresh our experience at the food court here at Pop.

Garden Grill during COVID

I have to admit, this was the hardest reservation for us to get at Disney World during our trip in May 2021. We really wanted this our first day for lunch, but we never got it. So we kept the reservation we happened to find before our trip for one of our evenings at Epcot.

Via Napoli Revisted

Back in May when we went to Disney World, we were able to snag a reservation for Via Napoli. I wasn’t entirely sure if we would keep it since my dad isn’t the biggest pizza fan, but we opted to go anyhow. Brad and I went back in February 2019, and we really loved it. So we thought it would be worth trying again. We were uncertain of how things would be since due to COVID, the International Program was on hold, but we still wanted to try it again.

Chefs de France - May 2021

One of Brad’s most favorite restaurants at Disney World that we do almost every single trip is Chefs de France. On our last few visits, I finally found food I really loved there. My favorite has always been the lobster bisque, but on our trip in 2019, I found a new favorite - flat iron steak with pomp frites. It was amazing. But with COVID, they have limited their menu dramatically. So I wanted to do another review with the current menu. Below are review from previous trips:

Dining with a Toddler at Disney World

As you can likely tell from a lot of my previous blog posts, we have been to Disney World quite a bit. I have been an Annual Passholder for two years, and I hope to be one again once we feel comfortable enough to travel back to Orlando. Over the last four years, we have been taking Melody to Disney and still eating at nice sit down restaurants at Disney World. We also do quick service, but we have made sure we still continue to eat at our favorite places even though we have a baby or toddler in tow. Today I wanted to share how we handle this and some advice I have.

Dole Whip

Disney released their dole whip recipe a while back, and I decided to give it a try. It was really good, but I definitely recommend making about half of the recipe unless you want to split it, ha!

Blue Milk

As a surprise for Star Wars Day (aka May 4th), I wanted to make Brad some blue milk like at Walt Disney World. We loved the blue milk, not the green milk so much. I found a lot of different recipes online, but this was also in the middle of difficult times to find unique things during grocery pickup. So I improvised one of the recipes with what I could find. It isn’t perfect by any means, but it is fairly close enough for us!

Wolfgang Puck Express

When we went to Disney back in October, we stayed at Buena Vista Palace. BVP is located across the street from Disney Springs. Since we were there with my mom who was on a business trip, the location was ideal so that Melody and I could go grab food and shop easily. During our trip we ate at Wolfgang Puck Express twice. This used to be our go-to spot. But then Disney moved the buses on the other end. It wasn’t as convenient, and we started eating at Chicken Guy! more. So it was a nice treat to get the chance to eat here again. It was right near the walking bridge from the hotel. And the foods servings are usually plentiful.

Pinocchio Village Haus

While at Disney back in August, we had lunch at Pinocchio Village Haus at Magic Kingdom. We have eaten here on past trips too. It’s a great place to cool off, and if you time it right, it isn’t very busy at all. They have a variety of food for even the pickiest eaters too!

Disney Halloween Snacks

While at Disney back in AUGUST, they already had the Halloween snacks out. I took a few pictures throughout our trip of the snacks, but the only thing I had was the apple. And it was amazing as always. I LOVE white chocolate! There are WAY MORE snacks than the ones below. Lots of restaurants have specialty ones along with ones offered at the Halloween parties. But below are a few you can find this year!

Beaches and Cream Revisited

Mom and I first visited Beaches and Cream back in 2018. The food was ok, but the ice cream was delicious. Brad really wanted to try it, so I was able to snag a reservation for our trip back in February. I also snagged one for mom and I when we went in March. We tried a few new things this time around, so I wanted to share about those.

La Cantina de San Angel

We revisited La Cantina de San Angel when at Disney World back in February. I have eaten here before with my mom. Brad has been here before, but he has never actually had any food here. I really enjoyed my visit with my mom, so I was excited to go back. Brad isn’t a huge fan of Mexican, but he was nice enough to tag along.

Festival of Fantasy Parade Dining Package Review

When we visited Disney World back in February, we purchased the dining plan. When trying to decide where to use our dining, we planned out all of our days and meals. I have tried Tony’s Town Square before, but Brad never has. And it has been a few years. So we decided to try it again. Well when booking our reservation, I noticed the Festival of Fantasy Parade Package. It cost the same thing on the dining plan (1 table service credit), and not only do you get a great view of the parade, you also get an entree and appetizer. Using a regular reservation and dining plan, no appetizer is included. It seemed like a no brainer. We were not 100% sure if Melody would hold out for the parade, but it was worth a shot.

Katsura Grill

On our trip to Disney World in February, we decide to eat at Katsura Grill again. We ate here back in December of 2017 and really enjoyed our experience. The food was good, and the atmosphere and location were great. So it was only fitting to eat here again.

Boardwalk Joe's

While staying at Boardwalk Inn and Villas back in February, we frequented The Boardwalk itself often. We walked The Boardwalk to get to Epcot every day. We didn’t eat at many places, but we did stop in a few of the quick service places along our walks. We stopped at Boardwalk Joe’s twice. It wasn’t for their margaritas, although those looked great. Instead I was intrigued by their Dole While Smoothies.
