Chicken Philly
Brad loves Philly Cheesesteaks. Me, not so much. Mainly because I do not care for beef as much as he does. I was searching for some new recipes to try in August, and I ran across a crockpot Philly Cheesesteak recipe. I knew I didn't want the steak, so I changed the recipe up some and used chicken. My version is below!
Ingredients
- 3 Chicken Breasts, sliced
- 2 Green Peppers, sliced
- 1 Onion, sliced
- 2 Cloves of Garlic
- 1 Chicken Bouillon Cube
- 1 Teaspoon of Salt
- 1/2 Teaspoon of Pepper
- 1 Envelope of Italian Seasoning Mix
- 1 Cup of Water
- 6 Slices of Provolone Cheese
- 6 Hoagie Style Rolls
Instructions
1. Place all ingredients in the crockpot except the cheese and rolls; stir
2. Cook on low for about 8 hours
3. Separate the hoagies and place both the top and bottom on a cookie sheet
4. Add some of the chicken mixture onto the bottom of each hoagie bun
5. Add cheese to the top of the chicken mixture
6. Broil on low for a few minutes; just long enough to brown the bread and melt the cheese
7. Serve and enjoy! [we froze the leftover chicken mixture for future sandwiches, but it would make around 6 sandwiches alone!]
