Undercabinet Lighting

Undercabinet Lighting

One thing I have always wanted in our kitchen is under cabinet lighting.  One day while visiting Costco, we found a deal on some puck lights.  I can't exactly remember how much they cost, but Amazon now sells the exact same ones for $23.  They are made by Capstone and come with 6 wireless lights and a remote.  We decided to test these out to see if we would really like the lighting.  We do love having the lights, and we hope to install something more permanent in the future.

Installing the lights was super easy.  Each light comes with heavy duty tape.  You apply the tape to the back of the light, then you apply the light to the cabinet.  The biggest dilemma you'll face is where to put the lights.  I measured and placed each one approximately mid-ways under each cabinet.  I placed 4 lights on our long section of cabinets.  Then I placed 2 lights in our corner section of cabinets.  My biggest complaint is that I feel like the lights drain whatever batteries we put in there.  We have only changed the batteries twice, but I don't use the lights often because I know the batteries won't last as long.  I usually only use the lights if we have company over or if I am cooking and need the lights.  I do recommend these lights if you don't plan to run them all the time.  I am considering getting more for our china cabinet since we would only use them when we have company or we are using the dining room.  I do plan to install better lights later though!
