Disney Party

Disney Party

In preparation for our Disney trip last December, we had another Disney party.  As you may recall, we did a Disney party in the past for a trip we went on with Emily and Justin to Disney.  We wanted to do something fun to get everyone excited about our upcoming trip.  Since it was near the holidays, our focus wasn't entirely on the trip.  So I wanted one day where we spent a little time thinking about Disney!

Melody was pretty excited.  She loves seeing Lydia.  She didn't fully understand the Disney aspect of the day, but she did wear some Minnie Ears and her MagicBand willingly.  We had the party on a football Saturday, and it was her weekend to wear Ole Miss [Brad and I alternate Alabama/Ole Miss each football Saturday].  But other than her dress, she was Disney-ready!

I had a little bit of decor leftover from our last Disney party, so I didn't really buy any.  I did buy some Mickey plates and napkins.  And I had matching utensils already.

I did opt to make food cards for the party.  I wanted all of the food to be a play on words rather than make Mickey shaped food.  This was much easier.  I made the cards using Pixelmator.  Then I saved them in Word, placed a border around them, and printed them all at once on cardstock.  Lastly, I folded cut them, then folded them in half.  I placed them beside each food that represented.

  • Grilled Hotdogs - Mickey's Hot Diggity Dogs
  • Chips and Rotel - Chip(s) and (Dale) Dip
  • Veggies with Spinach and Ranch Dip - Daisy's Garden Veggies
  • Donut Holes - Donald's Donuts
  • Utensils - Mouskatools

You can find the food cards at the bottom of the this post for your use, if you like.

The last Disney thing we did was give out "favors".  For Emily and Justin, we made them a vacation countdown that I wrote about in a previous post.  For Lydia I made her a "goodie" bag.  It contained a few Disney happys for Lydia!

All in all, it was a fun get together to help us get in the Disney mindset.  We played some games, watched some football, and let the girls play.

Below are the food cards I used.  Feel free to use them if you wish.
