Sunglasses Party Favors
For Melody's second birthday party, her theme was "You are my Sunshine". So when trying to decide on a party favor, sunglasses seemed like the perfect idea. I did have my own criteria before deciding the favor, and that was that it had to be something I could make well in advance (opposed to the cotton candy ice cream cone favors I did last year). I didn't want to be up late the night before trying to put together favors. And these worked out perfectly for that purpose!
I bought two packs of sunglasses from the Walmart party favor section. For the number I needed, this was the cheapest option. I bought one set with bows on it and the other set was plain. I decided to use a smaller version of the sun that I made for the invitation. I had a cute thank you not on the middle of the sun. I originally printed it, but I didn't love it after cutting it.
So instead, I used the pens for my Silhouette Cameo and re-wrote it. It also cut the circles immediately after writing it.
I attached it to the sun-rays portion using double sided tape.
I hole punched it and cut curling ribbon to attach it to the sunglasses with.
I tied the onto the center of the glasses into a light knot (easy to get out). Then I used scissors to make the ends of the ribbon curly.
I used the trays I used last year and from our wedding to sit them in. I also covered the bottom with yellow Easter grass to add some color.
