Hilton Garden Inn Chattanooga

Hilton Garden Inn Chattanooga

When we went to Chattanooga back in June, we decide to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn that is in downtown.  We had a lot of Hilton points from a recent stay during our home repairs, so we wanted to use them on this trip.  Therefore a Hilton property was a requirement for us.  Since we had so many points, we decided to stay in some sort of suite.  Two hotels offered suites, but one was sold out by the time we opted to book.  So we ended up at the Hilton Garden Inn in a Junior Suite.

Parking

The hotel itself was super easy to find.  Parking was not as easy.  Parking is shared with the Creative Discovery Museum parking lot.  We were lucky and found a parking space, but they were very limited.  And we arrived around 2 pm.  Brad immediately went inside, and we received a parking pass.  We actually never moved our car the entire trip, so I am not sure how easy parking would have been throughout the weekend.  You also are supposed to pay for parking.  The hotel waived our parking fee, but I believe it was around $10 per day.

Check in

When we originally arrived at 2, we tried to check in, but the room wasn't ready.  We were supposed to receive a text once the room was ready, but we never did.  Instead, I noticed in the Hilton app that my digital key was available.  We still checked in when we finished the aquarium.  We received two bottles of water, and the staff was really friendly.  They were also very helpful throughout our stay.  We needed a document scanned and they helped us out in a pinch.

Junior Suite

The junior suite is technically made up of two rooms, but there is not a door separating the rooms.  This still worked out perfectly for us because we were able to put Melody down to bed, and still watch TV and play on our computers in the living area.

The living area is the first portion of the room when you walk in.  It contained a couch and chair, an ottoman, TV stand with TV, and a desk area.

In between the two rooms contained a few things.  First was the mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker.

The second was a large closet with extra linens and an iron and ironing board.

And third was the restroom.  It had a shower/tub combination.

Finally is the bedroom.  We had a king bed (which is amazing), and there was also a TV in the room.

We had two windows in our room, but neither provided an amazing view.

Restaurant

Unfortunately the hotel does not offer a free breakfast like most.  Instead there is a restaurant which you can dine in.  For breakfast, it is absolutely not worth the cost.  I think it was like $12 per person for breakfast.  Because of our Hilton Honors status, we did receive free breakfast each morning.  Aside from a few hot items and the made to order omelets, the breakfast was identical to the one we received at the Homewood Suites a few weeks prior for free.  They also offer dinner, but I plan to review that later.

I would highly recommend staying here if you plan to visit Chattanooga and plan to spend time downtown.  It was very close to everything we wanted to do, and it was on the same block as the free electric shuttle.  However, if breakfast is a requirement for you, I would stay at one of the hotels nearby.  There were plenty of hotels within a block walking distance that may offer better amenities.  We literally picked this hotel due to the points we had!
