Toddler Chore Chart

Toddler Chore Chart

While looking through the dollar section of Target one afternoon, I ran across some different charts for children.  I found one that was for chores.  It was only $3, and it had a spot for 5 chores and came with a handful of magnets and a marker.  I had been wanting to come up with some sort of chore/responsibility chart, and this was perfect for what I wanted to do.

We picked five easy but good chores for a two year old: ask to be excused from meals; help with laundry; pick up toys; good school report/good behavior at home; and help out around the house.  She has started to ask to be excused from meals pretty regularly, but we wanted it to continue.  Helping with laundry is something as simple as moving the laundry basket after I emptied it, moving some of the clean clothes to the folding area, etc.  Picking up toys is pretty self explanatory but we require it each night before bed.  If she goes all day without getting in major trouble that gets a check mark.  Helping out around the house can be helping bring groceries in from the car, unloading her dishes, etc.

Each time she completes a chore, I draw a line on the board on the day she completed it.  She can get more in each category where applicable.  She also gets a sticker as her reward.  I let her pick her own from a huge book I found for $1 at Target.

Once she gets 10 marks, she can then get a stamp.  She loved stamps from gymnastics, so I thought this would be a nice big reward for her.  I found a set at Target for $5 that has a variety of stamps and two stamp pads.  It is easy to remove, and it dries fairly quickly.
