What to Wear to Disney in December

What to Wear to Disney in December

I have written about what to wear to Disney for a few different months (January, May, and September as of now). We have been numerous months over all of our visits, and December is one our more recent visits that I haven’t written about yet.

There are a lot of similarities to December and January. However, based on my experience, January is colder than December. I still come prepared for potential cold mornings and evenings, but I rarely use the cardigans/jackets/etc. You’ll see that in some of the pictures below.

For guys, it is pretty much like any other time of year! Brad wears shorts and short sleeve shirts and polos. He almost always will wear a Polo unless we are wearing matching t-shirts. He brings mainly khakis shorts, but he will usually bring at least one or two pair of blue jeans. This is especially necessary on travel days because it is typically too cold in North Alabama for shorts! Oh and tennis shoes are a must!

For girls, it truly varies depending upon your style. I like to wear dresses, so I will pair a short sleeve cotton dress with leggings. This makes for a comfy outfit, but the leggings aren’t too hot for a warm December day. It also keeps me from flashing anything when getting in and out of rides. If the dress is longer, I will wear just the dress, but sometimes I wear bikers shorts underneath to keep from my thighs chaffing. It isn’t a major problem since it isn’t super hot, but you never know!

If I am not wearing a dress, I wear blue jean shorts with either a cute short sleeve dressier shirt or a matching/Disney t-shirt. This trip we did one day of family matching shirts, and another day just Brad and I matched while Melody wore a shirt I made her with my Silhouette Cameo. I honestly do not think I brought a single pair of blue jeans. I used the leggings for travel days, and shorts or long dresses for Disney days. Jeans really aren’t necessary I feel. Although the closer you get to January, it may not be a bad idea to have a pair. You may just want to check the forecast before packing!

As far as shoes goes, I either wear Skecher GoWalks or my usual tennis shoes. Just don’t wear a brand new pair of shoes, just don’t!

And a new portion of this post is what about the kids?? Well the outfits are the same for them! Melody primarily wore dresses, and I would keep a pair of leggings for the mornings/evenings, or she wore a short sleeve shirt with shorts or leggings. She rarely wears shorts or just a dress at the age we took her in December (18 months old) because she still falls a lot when she walks!

All of the outfits I packed for our Disney trip last December can be found below. You can also see how I wore them to the parks if they were worn there. Maybe our trip was during an unseasonably warm time, but the jackets just were not necessary for us. But we did have them just in case. It is better to be prepared than have to spend $50 on something at Disney (unless that’s your excuse for a souvenir)!
