March 2019 Disney Planning
Mom and I make an annual trip to Disney World nearly every year for my birthday. We started this when I got out of college. It usually would just be a day or two at Disney and we would tack on a cruise. But since I had Melody, I haven’t wanted to do a cruise yet. So we just do Disney. This year, January was just not ideal. So we postponed until March.
Dates
We looked at various dates and Kenny the Pirate’s crowd calendar, and we came up with March 1 - March 4. It is sort of nice because it is right in the middle of two festivals at Epcot, so we are hoping this with help with crowds. I do hate we won’t be attending a festival, but I am hoping it still works in our favor. There are dance competitions that weekend, but I am hoping there won’t be a huge impact for us.
Resort
Our new go-to resort is Port Orleans French Quarter. Well when I first started looking for our dates, the room did not have any availability. But after being persistent and continuously checking, I finally found a room with an AP discount too!
Transportation
So driving is totally not an option for us. We are too spoiled by flying these days. Well there are two value airlines in Huntsville now. We opted to travel this trip using Silver Airways. We liked that it was a direct flight, and honestly, it had the best times for arrival and departure. Frontier did not fly on the days that we wanted to travel. So our other options were Delta from Huntsville or Southwest from Birmingham. We really didn’t want to drive to Birmingham especially for the early flight. And Delta didn’t have great flight times. Flying a new, cheap airline made us very apprehensive, but we are hoping it works out for us.
Tickets
Mom and I are both AP holders, so we didn’t have to purchase tickets. And Melody is free because she is still 2.
Dining Plans
Since we aren’t doing the dining plan on this trip, we have more freedom when it comes to our dining reservations. We aren’t tied to a certain number of credits, so we can make plans last minute without worrying if we have enough credits or we won’t spend them all. So below are the only reservations we had going into our trip. There is a good chance we will add some as our trips continues though.
Teppan Edo - Saturday, noon
Beaches and Cream - Saturday, 6:10 pm
Be Our Guest - Sunday, 8:35 am
Plans and Fastpass+
So we are going into our trip knowing our plans can change. The only days that we are really set on are Saturday and Sunday. But Friday and Monday are set to change. But here are our plans so far…
Friday
Animal Kingdom - This may change depending on when our flight officially lands, when we make it to the hotel, and the weather.
4:35 it’s tough to be a bug
6:05 Kilimanjaro Safaris
7:35 Na’vi River Journey
Saturday
Epcot - We will unlikely change much since we really want to eat at Teppan Edo.
9:25 Frozen Ever After
10:35 The Seas with Nemo and Friends
noon Teppan Edo
1:50 Spaceship Earth
6:10 Beaches and Cream
Sunday
Magic Kingdom - Again, we likely won’t change this. Melody is really looking forward to this day, and Be Our Guest is our favorite. We may change our FP+ around to incorporate more of what Melody wants to do.
8:35 Be Our Guest
9:45 Jungle Cruise
11 Haunted Mansion
3:25 Peter Pan’s Flight
Monday
Epcot - So this is our travel home day. I booked our FP+ at Epcot because I know Frozen Ever After is hard to get. But we may end up back at Magic Kingdom.
9:15 Journey into the Imagination with Figment
11:15 Frozen Ever After
11:25 Spaceship Earth
