Rosie's All-American Cafe

Rosie's All-American Cafe

While at Disney in February, one of the places I wanted to try was Rosie’s All-American Cafe at Hollywood Studios. They had a fried green tomato sandwich that sounded amazing. It had sounded similar to the one served at The Plaza Restaurant. I wasn’t sure if we would still be at Hollywood Studios by lunch but thankfully we were. Let me share our experience below!

Since they offered mobile ordering here, we opted to order our food while waiting for Frozen Ever After to start. Thankfully they now accept the dining plan, so we plan to use it as often as possible. I placed my order during the show, then sent it to be made as soon as we arrived at Rosie’s.

I went to the mobile ordering area while Brad and Melody went and found a table. All seating is outdoors here, but it was a mild day (we were all wearing long sleeves) so sitting outside was not a problem at all. A complaint I have with the mobile ordering system is that my order was being called out before my app had let me know it was ready. Thankfully I was waiting there just in case this happened. [I received the notification it was ready after sitting down with our food at our table.]

I ordered the fried green tomato sandwich just as I planned. It was served on ciabatta bread and topped with the fried green tomatoes, pepper jack cheese, arugula, tomatoes, and jalapeño ranch dressing. While the ranch dressing did make it slightly messy, it wasn’t dripping with sauce which was nice. The fried green tomato was perfectly crisp and not mushy at all. I did end up removing the red tomato about half way through because it wasn’t amazing paired with the green tomato. The arugula went perfectly with the sandwich. I am a huge fan of arugula; it is one of my favorite sandwich toppings. The sandwich was overall great. I would not go out of my way and go to Hollywood Studios just for this meal, but if I was already there, I would definitely pick Rosie’s over all of the other quick service restaurants.

I also ordered the strawberry lemonade since I was on the dining plan. It was pretty standard, but really good and refreshing.

Brad ordered the burger, ketchup only. Pretty boring so not much to show. He enjoyed it, but it was like any other burger at a quick service restaurant. The fries were good too, but again nothing special.

So like I said above, if I was in Hollywood Studios again for lunch or dinner, I would definitely pick Rosie’s over any other quick service. Well unless it is in the middle of the summer. I am not a fan of outdoor seating, so that would be the only drawback. What is also nice is that it is next to Catalina Eddie’s, which serves pizza. It gives you a little bit of added variety. Oh and the mobile ordering is wonderful even with its flaws!
