Festival of Fantasy Parade Dining Package Review

Festival of Fantasy Parade Dining Package Review

When we visited Disney World back in February, we purchased the dining plan. When trying to decide where to use our dining, we planned out all of our days and meals. I have tried Tony’s Town Square before, but Brad never has. And it has been a few years. So we decided to try it again. Well when booking our reservation, I noticed the Festival of Fantasy Parade Package. It cost the same thing on the dining plan (1 table service credit), and not only do you get a great view of the parade, you also get an entree and appetizer. Using a regular reservation and dining plan, no appetizer is included. It seemed like a no brainer. We were not 100% sure if Melody would hold out for the parade, but it was worth a shot.

We arrived at our reservation around 12:10 and we were sat almost immediately. We sat in the main dining room as you can see below. We were seated in a corner booth with a chair on the outside. There was plenty of room so we all sat in the booth.

Below is their menu. We were able to each pick one appetizer and one entree.

After ordering, our waitress brought us bread. It was quite delicious.

Brad ordered the spinach dip. It was really great, but we could have done without the tomato/basil mix on top. The ciabatta bread that it was served with was delicious on its own, but with the dip it was fantastic. I ordered the fried mozzarella. It was really good and unlike the similar dish from Boardwalk To Go, it didn’t taste like any other frozen mozzarella sticks. It tasted fresh, and the marinara sauce was the perfect touch. They were literally taking a bath in the sauce, so if you don’t like sauce with yours, you may want to request it without.

For Brad’s entree, he ordered the shrimp ravioli. (Even the add on of the shrimp was included with the package.) The ravioli itself was really good. We didn’t care for the brown sauce that also came with it (not sure what it is formally called, ha). Brad really enjoyed the shrimp, but I didn’t try any. It didn’t come with very much honestly. Brad also picked around the hazelnut. He wished he would have requested none, but he didn’t realize it when ordering it.

I ordered the Italian trio with a turkey meatball instead of the traditional pork. I couldn’t really decide so this was the best option, ha. The chicken parmesan was pretty good. I had it on my last visit here. It still tasted good, but I was disappointed it wasn’t topped with fresh cheese and there were no noodles to eat specifically with it. The chicken tasted good and was cooked perfectly. My only complaint about the chicken was the breading easily came off. You can almost tell this from the picture below. It was my second favorite of the three dishes.

Next up was the spaghetti with the one turkey meatball. The meatball itself tasted ok, but honestly, I am not a meatball fan. When we make spaghetti, we make our sauce from scratch and we cook the beef in it rather than doing meatballs. The noodles were regular spaghetti noodles and were cooked perfectly. The sauce was ok. Brad ruined me to the point I cannot eat any spaghetti but his family’s recipe, ha! This was my least favorite of the three. The sauce just didn’t do it for me.

My favorite was the Alfredo. I love a good Alfredo. My only complaint was that so much of the marinara sauce ran into the Alfredo sauce. And the only thing to make it better would be adding some chicken to it, ha.

Below was the dessert menu. We were each able to pick one.

Brad, surprise, surprise, ordered the tiramisu. He loves tiramisu so he had no complaints. I had the seasonal cheese cake which was white chocolate raspberry. I liked that it was a whole piece of cheesecake instead of a smaller piece like I received on our first trip here. It tasted really great and I always love the chocolate garnish. The raspberry sauce really added to the flavor with each bite.

Once we paid, we were given our tickets for the parade. Unfortunately we didn’t make it. We were all way too tired and needed a break. We didn’t have any evening plans, but I honestly don’t think we would have made it without a fight otherwise. The seating is directly in the sun without any shade available. I really wished we would have thought about it and gave our tickets to another family, but it literally didn’t cross my mind until we got back to our room and emptied our pockets.

I really like Tony’s. It is a nice restaurant, but it is very heavy food to eat and then go tour a hot theme park. I do feel like the Italian food is much better at Epcot though. But if you want an Italian fix, this will definitely hit the spot. If I were to go back today, I would pick the ravioli for sure. It has been the best dish I have had yet there. And as far as the parade package goes, I would definitely get it if on the dining plan especially if it remains one credit. I can’t say anything to the viewing location of the parade, but the amount of food you get is a much better value.
