Backstock Closet

Backstock Closet

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you know I go to Publix weekly to check out their BOGOs. My back stock has been hard to store over the years. I usually just make it fit in the pantry and utilize the space at the top of my pantry for what won’t fit. But this makes finding stuff really hard. For sometime now, I have wanted to utilize our coat closet for some storage shelving. My original idea was to only use this for paper products, but I was able to get shelving tall enough to accommodate our food back stock too. I also blame The Home Edit for me finally doing this, ha.

So our coat closet is underneath our staircase. If you open the closet, you simply see coats, but if you go behind the coats we have a huge open space. Under the stairs itself, we store our suitcases. But we also have space that is a bit taller than myself. We bought a shelving system from Target that could easily be moved if needed.

Melody helped me move everything extra from our pantry onto the shelves. I did try to organize the shelves to make the most sense. I also logged all of our backstop in a notebook so that I could easily keep track of what we had without going back there.

Our pantry is now much more organized too!
