Cleaning Outdoor Cushions
So last year we got a new patio set since our new house had an actual covered patio. We used it some but not as much as I would have liked since our yard was still a disaster, and we traveled a lot in the fall. Well even though we didn’t use it an incredible amount, it still had some mildew like stains on it. I tried numerous things to clean it until I found a perfect solution. Check it out below!
So you can see an example of the issue below.
So to start, vacuum all of the cushions to get all of dirt off of them.
Water the cushion down (don’t soak them, just water them).
Use the following solution to clean them. I tried to really scrub them down good and let them sit for at least 15 minutes to absorb the solution. SOLUTION: mix 1 tablespoon of dishing liquid, 1/4 cup of borax, and warm water.
After 15 minutes+ use the water hose to wash off all of the solution.
Let air dry in the sun. Be sure to flip over during the drying stage to dry both sides.
And once it is completely dry, you can use again! We also applied some scotch guard to help keep this from happening again!
