Cinemark Private Watch Party
To start the week of celebrating Brad’s birthday, we visited our local movie theater for a private watch party. For approximately $100 you can rent an entire theater. You can pick a movie from their list, and then you can bring up to 20 friends. It’s a great deal for a group of friends wanting to go to the movies but remain socially distant from other people and have some privacy.
When we arrived, it was fairly empty in the entire theater. They do ask that everyone in your party be present when checking in. We also arrived about 25 minutes ahead of the scheduled movie time to allow plenty of time to get snacks and get settled in general. They also require masks when you are not eating. We removed them while in the auditorium since it was just the 6 of us (we invited two sets of friends; one set we see often [Emily and Justin] and another set we don’t see often so we remained socially distant from them for the most part).
After we checked in, they told us our auditorium number. Then we got all of our snacks. Right now they are offering discounted prices, plus if you are a club member you still get 20% off. We got a large popcorn, 2 large drinks, and candy all for under $12. Then we headed to get seated! They do provide plenty of hand sanitizer throughout the theater, and they also have wipes to wipe your seats if you want to do so. They do disinfect the theater after each showing.
As you can see, it was really nice to have the entire space to ourselves. We were able to sit comfortably and not worry about anyone sitting too close to us. Brad picked Empire Strikes Back as his movie. He loved getting to see it on the big screen again.
We really loved this experience and hope to do it again. It would be ideal to go see a movie our girls would love so that we can let them get out in public but do it safely. And they could run freely!
