New Year's Eve 2021
We had what was probably our most laid back New Year’s Eve that we have had in quite some time. Alabama was playing football, and we just made the most of spending the day at home relaxing. We did add a few bits of fun in the mix too!
We went out to eat for lunch. It was semi-unintentional. We ran an unexpected errand which had us in town during lunch.
After lunch, we came back home and made some game day snacks. Alabama played at 2:30. While we were not hungry for lots of food during the game, I did want some accessible when we got hungry near the end.
Then we enjoyed watching the football game. Melody got bored and eventually started watching stuff on her tablet.
We spent the evening doing a few fun things for Melody. We did a couple of experiments and a popsicle bath. I will touch on those in the future individually, but she had a lot of fun. And it was something she got to do specifically instead of the entire focus being football all day for us.
We ended the night watching both the Disney Parks fireworks and then watching some of our local stations for countdowns in our time zone. We regretfully let Melody stay up until midnight. The midnight part was not the issue. It was the fighting us afterwards to go to bed because she was so tired she became angry. Next year we may do an early countdown for her, ha!
