Bridal Shower Food Labels

Bridal Shower Food Labels

For my cousin’s bridal shower, the theme itself was miss to mrs. In addition we were doing a chip and did charcuterie style food setup. With that, they wanted the food to all be labeled. And I was in charge of making said labels. I wanted to do something using chalkboards because I thought that would be nice. I did some searching at Hobby Lobby and Michael’s as well as online with Amazon.

I ultimately went with the white chalkboard stands from Hobby Lobby. I think I ended up buying like 5-6 packs. I used the stands to label things like the dips, drinks, and coffee bar items. I wanted to add variety, so I decided to make some label “tents” using my Silhouette Cameo. I was going to use chalkboard vinyl to do this, but I could not get my chalk to work with my Cameo. So I ultimately decided to use paper. I cut some different sized tents out of red paper to help me decide a size.

The first and hardest task was the chalkboard stands. I wanted to have really pretty handwriting on it, so I made stencils using my Cameo. I applied the stencils onto the stands using transfer tape. Then I used chalk markers to color in the stencil before removing it. I did have some that bled through the stencil some because they were so small. So I used my small paint brushes, wet them, and got into some of those detailed areas to clean it up.

My last decision was how to finish off the tents. I was torn between using just the outline vs. filling in the outline using a gold sharpie I have. Ultimately I went with filling it in.

You can see all the labels below at the shower. I think they turned out really pretty and really made things stand out. Obviously not every label was necessary, but I think it really made the theme pop.
