Fall Break 2022 - Day One
We went to Pigeon Forge this year for fall break. Brad was unfortunately traveling for work. So we made it a girls trip including my mom. We found a good deal on a fun hotel, and we used our season passes for Dollywood to give us some additional fun. Emily’s family also was there for a part of a trip giving Melody someone to play with at times. We had a lot of fun, and I have a lot to share! Here is day one!
We decided to leave fairly early in hope of squeezing in some Dollywood on our first night. We left early enough to grab lunch at Aubrey’s. It easily was a favorite on our last trip, and we loved it just the same this trip.
We did some shopping at the outlets, then headed to the hotel at check in time. We stayed at The Resort at Governor’s Crossing. We had heard mixed reviews on the hotel, and one of the complaints was the delayed check in. But we literally had no issues. We walked right up, and we had our arm bands in minutes. Our room was really nice, and we really enjoyed this resort. I will share ALL about this fun hotel later.
Once we unloaded the car, we headed to Dollywood! It would be closed the next day, so we wanted to get in a few rides and see the park at night. They had all of their Halloween decor out, so we couldn’t wait to see it. We parked in Lot C, so we took the trolly.
The first thing we did was grab dinner and met up with Emily’s group. We had a corn dog and hot dog from Dog and Taters. It was ok. It was way too much food for us.
Then we headed to ride the train since we did not do it last trip. It was fun to do once, but not really something I would wait to do again.
I grabbed a picture of Melody and Lydia before heading to the carousel.
Melody started to feel sick after the carousel. She had been sick days prior, but we were told she had nothing contagious, and she was fine to travel. But on this night she was really nauseous. She had been wearing blue light classes for “fun”. We think it was those, but it may also be that she was barely eating at this point. So we took her to the bathroom to attempt to throw up. When she couldn’t, we stopped for some popcorn and took a break for a bit. Her stomach settled enough for us to start our exit. We ended up going to Walmart later and getting meds for her.
We met back up with Emily’s group and headed out. This was their last trip as a family of 4 since Emily was due with baby #3 in early December.
It was a pretty good day with a sad ending, but Tuesday was going to be more of a laid back rest day. So we had hopes she would feel better!
