American Girl Hotel Experience

American Girl Hotel Experience

Back in June, we got to take part in the American Girl Hotel Experience at TownePlace Suites in Franklin, TN. It was in celebration of both Melody’s and our niece’s birthday, Caroline. Their birthdays are one year apart but two dates apart (May 25 vs May 27). So this was their birthday present from our mother in law. We also celebrated at the American Girl store, but I will speak to that later. Today I want to share all about our hotel experience.

The experience literally starts when you walk into the doors. We arrived a bit early so they were still setting up in the first picture below. But once set up, Melody walked through the ropes and balloons to find a certificate ready for her signature. She also received a tiara to wear and keep.

Then we made our way up the elevators. She was so excited.

Once we made it into our room, we were greeted with lots of pink and purple. The room itself is just an ordinary suite. Then they go in and add all the pink and purple details. So there are not a certain set of rooms set off for this experience. Our two nieces in the other room both received all of the amenities I am about to speak to as well. I am sure my mother in law did have to pay more to get the second set, but I did not ask.

So the bed is all decked out with goodies for Melody’s WellieWisher. There was an American Girl bag (just for looks) along with balloons. This was all on top of a pink fleece blanket (Melody had to use this when she went to bed that night). Then there was a bed along with a sheet and pillow exclusively for her doll. We also got to keep this. What was neat about the bed is that it converts into a chair. I apparently did not get a picture of this, but believe me, it does, ha. There was also a handwritten note from the hotel that Melody got to read along with a postcard that we did not mail to anyone. Looking back, we could have mailed it home and Melody would have likely found that neat. There were also some cookies and decor left out on the kitchen table. We found a carton of milk in the fridge too.

The TVs in the room also had access to the American Girl YouTube channel. I am not sure if all TVs have access to this or not, but they did make a point to tell us this.

A nice perk of staying at this hotel is the access to the American Girl Store. We literally walked over (as you can see below). It can be tricky with little ones and the traffic in the mall parking lot, but we made it work. I do wish they had a crosswalk, however. Below is also a picture of all the girls in their tiaras before heading to the American Girl party! Then the next morning, the hotel provided high chairs for their dolls at breakfast.

I think this was such a fun experience for the girls to have. I am not sure it is something we would do every time we went to the American Girl Store, but it is something I can see us doing again for sure!
