Fall Break - Day Three

Fall Break - Day Three

We went to Pigeon Forge this year for fall break. Brad was unfortunately traveling for work. So we made it a girls trip including my mom. We found a good deal on a fun hotel, and we used our season passes for Dollywood to give us some additional fun. Emily’s family also was there for a part of a trip giving Melody someone to play with at times. We had a lot of fun, and I have a lot to share! Here is day three!

We made this day a primarily Dollywood day. This was Emily’s family’s last day before heading back home, so we spent the day with them. We didn’t arrive until right at park opening, so we had quite the wait at the height measuring center. We learned from that mistake, ha.

We made our way to the Country Fair and let the kids ride rides. We knocked out some favorites before heading to get a later lunch. Again, we decided to eat lunch closer to 12:30 when everyone else was eating. We ran into quite the crowd at Red’s Drive In. We sent my mom, Emily, and the kids to find a table. Then Justin and I got in line for food. Luckily we ordered when we did because not long after our order, they had to temporarily stop taking orders for hamburgers. They had such a large quantity of orders, they had to let the kitchen catch up. The lines for the drink machine were about 20 deep. While the Freestyle Machines are nice, they do make quite the line. But we got our food about the time I got our drinks.

After lunch, we let the girls get their face painted. Melody had been begging to do this since the first night, so we gave in.

We then went and rode Blazing Fury a few times before making our way around the park. We took some pictures along the way.

Then we found ourselves in Wildwood Grove. We rode a few rides and got a few pictures with characters before calling it quits around 4:30.

We left Dollywood and headed straight to dinner. We decided to try Quaker Steak and Lube. It was literally half a mile at most from our hotel. It seemed big enough that we hoped crowds wouldn’t be too bad. We arrived around 5:45, and we immediately were seated. The atmosphere was unique, and the food was pretty good. I really liked their chicken fingers. And their sauces were decent. I do like the variety of side dishes they have.

We got back to the hotel around 7 or so, and we decided to let the kids play on the playground some before calling it a semi-early night. Emily’s group had to pack up to head home, and we had another day of fun at Dollywood to plan for!
