My Face Care Routine
A few months ago, my friend and I were talking about different products we use on our face. It likely stemmed from a conversation about our dermatologists. Well it dawned on me that I use quite a few products in my morning and night routine. So I thought I would share those with you. In no way are these products an ad, and they honestly may not even be the best products I could be using. But they don’t break out my face, and they seem to be working, ha.
1. CeraVe Hydrating Micellar Water and/or Comforting Eye Makeup Remover - AS NEEDED AT NIGHT
So I only use these when I wash my face at night after wearing makeup. I will use the eye makeup remover to remove my mascara. Then I use the micellar water to get a headstart on removing my makeup.
2. CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser - MORNING AND NIGHT
Now I would wash my face using this cleanser. I have really dry skin, so I need all the hydration I can get. I find this doesn’t leave my face screaming for lotion as soon as I wash it either which is nice.
3. CeraVe Eye Repair Cream (MORNING AND NIGHT) and Skin Renewing Retinol Serum (NIGHT)
In the last month I have started using this eye repair cream. I don’t really have many under eye issues yet, but I did want to get ahead of it. I put a dab under my eye after washing my face both morning and night. At night I will then add one pump of the retinol serum to my face. I don’t like using this in the morning because it does add redness to my already red cheeks. I really don’t know what this does, but I always hear you should add retinol to your face care routine.
4. Moisturize!!!
CeraVe Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion with Sunscreen (WHEN NEEDED)
I don’t use this daily, but when I know I am going to the beach or will be out in the sun, I like to put this on first.
CeraVe Moisturizing Cream (MORNING AND NIGHT)
I prefer the cream because it is thicker and leaves my skin feeling nice and moisturizing. It can feel a bit greasy at first, but I prefer that over the dryness. I get this at Costco in the big pumps, and it lasts a LONG time.
Vaseline (NIGHT)
Most night before bed, I will apply a few dabs of Vaseline to seal the moisture for the night. I feel like it has really helped in keeping my skin less dry and smoother too.
5. bareMinerals Ageless Lip Mask - NIGHT
Right before bed, I apply this lip mask to my lips. With my dry skin, it is easy for me to get dry, chapped lips. So I like to put this on each evening to help combat that. I also use moisturizing chapstick during the day when I think about it.
6. Il Makiage No Filter Primer (AS NEEDED)
Right before putting on makeup, I like to use a primer. I recently gave Il Makiage a try, and I have really enjoyed their primer. It is so silky and smooth. I only use it on days I wear makeup though.
