We have been members at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens for a little over a year now. We have visited every season so far, and we have no attended two paid events there. One of those was this spring, and it was unique. We visited during the day using our normal membership, and then we paid to go again at night. It is the Chinese Lantern Festival. It is a traveling festival that has numerous lanterns that are lit up at night and throughout the Garden. I believe the path is a little over a mile long. Follow along for both of my experiences.
So the entire winter, we went to the Botanical Gardens ONE time! It was too cold and too wet all winter. Or it just wasn’t convenient on the pretty days. We did find a decent day early March to go, so it was barely still winter, ha! Check out all the pictures below.
This fall we really didn’t get to spend enough time at the Gardens. It was just too wet or cold. We did make it to see the Galaxy of Lights then we spent one morning there too. We walked around the children’s gardens, but we also went out discovering other areas on that day too. Check it out below!
Since Melody was born, Brad and I have been attempting to go to the Galaxy of Lights Walking Nights at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens. The first year the crowd was insane and we couldn’t get in. The second year, we had things going on and couldn’t make it. This year, they allowed us to buy tickets before we went. So we picked a day a few weeks in advance and bought the tickets in advance to save time. It was originally required, but a few days before the event, they did state they would allow people to buy at the gate.
So earlier this summer, Emily and I decided to become members at the Huntsville Botanical Garden. It is something we started discussing last summer, and neither of us really jumped on it. So one day in May, we just decided to go! Because of the crazy Alabama heat, we haven't visited but a handful of times this summer so far. We are really hoping to visit more this fall, winter, and spring when the weather cools off. However, below is a sneak peek of our trips so far!
