Baby Sprinkle
My sister in law is due with her second little girl at the end of November. I know it is not customary to through a huge baby shower for the second baby, but I still wanted to do something for her. I decided to throw her a sprinkle. She just invited family, and we kept it small and simple. I will post links to a few posts later going into the details of how I did a few things, but overall you can check out the Baby Sprinkle below!
I truly stuck with the "sprinkle" theme. I wanted to play off real sprinkles throughout the shower as well as the colors.
When everyone came in, the first thing they would see is the dining room which contained a few things.
The centerpiece was the diaper cake I made. I opted to go simple with this one. It was truly just diapers, ribbon around each tier, then I bought a cute wooden stroller from Hobby Lobby for the topper.
On the right was the diaper raffle that we did. In the invitation I asked everyone to bring a pack of diapers to be entered in a drawing for a prize. The prize was next to the raffle bowl along with the tickets and some pens. I bought some locally made soap and a bath bomb from a local shop here in Huntsville.
On the left were a few things. I displayed the invitation here on an easel.
I also had a basket I put a ribbon on that contained the party favors - ponytail holders [post coming soon].
Last was the mad libs guestbook that everyone filled out, and Rebekah read them aloud.
The next room is the living room.
I made a diaper wreath that I hung above the fireplace.
I put a sign on the mantel that said "gifts" to let everyone know to place their gifts around the fireplace.
Also on the mantel, I hung three onesies I made for the new baby. I made them all on my Silhouette Cameo. The middle one was my favorite since it also played on the sprinkle theme!
The last room we used was the kitchen/main living area. This is where all of the food was. I had very little decoration in this room since the food itself was decor!
For drinks we did lemonade and water. The lemonade was in a drink dispenser and we had cute straws for those. The water was in a metal bucket. I forgot to get a picture of that!
My mother-in-law had a really pretty blue tablecloth we used on her kitchen table.
We used pink plates, a variety of colors for the forks, and sprinkle napkins. Food wise we had the following:
- Veggies with ranch dip
- Pita chips with spinach dip
- Deli spiral sandwiches
- Candy popcorn covered in sprinkles
- Cookie dough ball with Nilla wafers
- Petit Fours from Miss Muff'n
- Cookies from Whimsy Cookies
Below are some candid and posed shots throughout the shower.
Overall I think the shower was a success and Rebekah ended up with some much needed things for baby #2!
