Snow White Party Food
For Melody’s Snow White birthday party, I wanted to keep the food simple and light. Years past I always spent way too much on food, and I had way too much leftover. So this year I decided I would do a few smaller things and then do something that was the focus/centerpiece of the food. I kept the dessert on a separate table, so that is why I decided to do this approach.
The main focus was the “apple bar”. I did a post on this a while back. I went with green apples simply because that is what Melody eats. I then picked a few toppings along with just caramel dip. In addition to the apple bar portion of the table, I had apple sauce packets, goldfish, Chex Mix, and chips with french onion dip. Most of the items can be found at some point BOGO at Publix which helps with the costs. I also served food we regularly eat, so if there was any left (not much this year), we would eat it ourselves.
To serve the food I tried to use platters and trays that played off the colors. I had blue chargers, and a few Happy Everything dishes that had yellow and blue on them. I also used a lot of white plates too. I plan to discuss the decor more in a a future post, but I did really try to play up the colors.
For the dessert table, the focus was obviously the Snow White doll cake my mom and I made. I also hoped the focus would be on the cookies I made too! We also served chocolate chip cookies (another BOGO from Publix), cupcakes, and ice cream cups (not pictured).
We set up the drink table in our kitchen. We had a small assortment of drinks. I borrowed a drink dispenser set from Emily and served water and unsweet tea in it. I also set out cups and sweetener for those that wanted it. In the drink canister I served a few cokes and juices boxes.
As I said above, we kept it really simple this year and only served things we would eat if they were leftover. The only things we really had leftover were desserts, honestly.
