Calendar Time at Home
Back in March when school was closed, and we had to start homeschooling due to COVID-19, we had to get creative about learning at home. One of the things I wanted to continue while at home was calendar time. I decided to make my own calendar at home. I laminated everything so that I could use a dry erase marker on it and reuse it throughout the year.
So first I made a general blank calendar that I update each month. We mark each day off as we go, and I also put a dot for important events to draw Melody’s attention to them.
I also have a “days of the week” and “months of the year” sheet. We do songs to those each day to help her remember all of the days and months too.
Lastly I made another fill in the blank page where we listed “yesterday”, “today”, and “tomorrow”, along with the weather and season.
She looks forward to doing this daily, and she also reminds us if we forget, ha!
