Valentine's Day 2021
While we always keep Valentine’s Day low key, this year was truly that. We stayed in all day (with the exception of a lunch trip Brad made), and we just spent time playing and relaxing (and prepping for an “ice storm”).
Melody celebrated her last Valentine’s Day at her preschool earlier in the week. It is so bittersweet. Like always, I took pictures of all of her Valentine’s from her friends and teachers. It is so cute seeing all of their little handwriting.
One day this week we also had Bojangles for dinner, and I got a heart shaped bo-berry biscuit. Yum!
We started Valentine’s Day morning swapping gifts after sleeping in. I got Brad some Star Wars ears from Aloha Ears. Brad got me a t-shirt from Rocket City Coffee, our new favorite coffee shop. We gave Melody at grow with me Baby Alive doll. It was far more expensive than we normally would do for Valentine’s, but we had it before Christmas so in theory the cost was irrelevant lol. She loved it, and she has played with it nonstop.
For breakfast, we had heart shaped pancakes.
Then we rested and played the rest of the day.
We ended the night with our usual Valentine’s dinner of lasagna. It doesn’t look appealing, but it tastes amazing and is all homemade. For dessert we had cheesecake from Costco. It was quite delicious.
