Elf on the Shelf 2021
I told myself over the last few years we would never get one of those elves. It was too much work and I was not a fan. But I gave in very last minute this year. Literally I found an elf at Target that was a girl with blue eyes on December 1st. I actually ended up having a lot of fun with our elf. There were a few days she was forgotten by me, but thankfully Brad would remember. She was touched, but we recovered. Check out her shenanigans below.
December 1st
The elf arrived on the afternoon of December 1st. She simply arrived in Melody’s Christmas tree along with her book. We read the book that evening, and Melody named her Unicorn.
December 2nd
Our second day things already went bad, ha. Well Unicorn found herself in our light fixture, but unfortunately she fell during the night hours. Thankfully she was discovered by me and found herself in our blinds!
December 3rd
Melody had to miss school this day due to getting sick at dance the night before. She was really upset about this. So Unicorn came riding one of our reindeer bringing a note and gift!
December 4th
This was the first day Unicorn got into trouble. She was found eating candy from our candy jar. And she made quite the mess while doing it.
December 5th
Well I thought Unicorn would need to go poop, but Brad disagreed. So instead, we found her drinking coffee from one of our K-Cups.
December 6th
It took us a while to find Unicorn this morning. She took up shelter in our fridge wrapped up in a towel. Of course Melody did not understand why she was cold since she normally lives in the North Pole.
December 7th
Unicorn was found all wrapped up in Melody’s floss on her lamp.
December 8th
More shenanigans were had when we found Unicorn had rolled Melody’s Christmas tree in toilet paper.
December 9th
Unicorn decided she wanted to be like Melody’s toys, and we found her hanging out with Melody’s stuffed animals on her bed.
December 10th
Unicorn surprised Melody with the Paw Patrol Movie DVD. She had been wanting it for quite a while, and Unicorn must have suspected we had a road trip coming up.
December 11th
We woke up in Memphis the morning of the 11th, and Unicorn was found snuggling with our niece’s Wubby. Now something else happened this day. Another niece touched Unicorn. Melody was devastated, but after some research, we found a way to bring her magic back. That evening we placed Unicorn by the fireplace in hope that Santa would send some magic down the chimney to her.
December 12th
Thankfully Unicorn’s magic was restored, and she brought a note for Melody to let her know she was ok.
December 13th
Another day, another shenanigan performed by Unicorn. I think she attempted to make an angel from sprinkles, but it did not work. Instead, she just made a mess.
December 14th
We found Unicorn reading all about how to catch an elf…I wonder if she is trying to figure out all of our tricks??
December 15th
We found Unicorn going through all of Melody’s ponytail holders!
December 16th
I had started setting up for our family Christmas, and Unicorn found her way on our plates!
December 17th
It is like Unicorn knew we had lots to do this day, so she kept things simple. She showed up as a ballerina.
December 18th
We had our first Christmas gathering this day. Unicorn didn’t want to be n the middle of things it would appear, so she hung out on our mantel.
December 19th
Today was our second Christmas gathering. Again, Unicorn kept to herself but made her presence a bit more known. She hung out in Melody’s stocking.
December 20th
Unicorn managed to actually succeed in hanging on our kitchen light!
December 21st
Unicorn took a dive into some of our craft supplies.
December 22nd
I think Unicorn was missing home some. She was found sitting on Santa’s house in our gingerbread village.
December 23rd
Unicorn once again found her way to Memphis with us. We found her on their kitchen light!
December 24th
Our last day with Unicorn. We didn’t get much time with her. I am not sure we even saw her until it was evening due to the urgency of getting Melody to the doctor. We spent most of our day at the ER. But we did find her when we returned. She left a goodbye letter for Melody and some reindeer food. Melody did not end up hugging her, but she said she would next year
We had so much fun with Unicorn this holiday season. I cannot wait for her return later this year!
