Stinky's Fish Camp - Destin, FL

Stinky's Fish Camp - Destin, FL

We travel to Destin, FL quite often because Brad's parents own a condo at Tops'l Beach and Racquet Resort.  We have a lot of restaurants that we love, but one of our favorites is Stinky's Fish Camp.  It is actually located in Santa Rosa Beach off of 30A.  While the food can be expensive, it really is amazing.  I am not sure we have ever had a bad meal here.  The only recommendation I have is that you should arrive early!  Everyone knows how good this place is.  We went on a Friday at 5:30 in June, and we had to wait an hour and a half.  Something also to note is that you are required to valet your car.

Below is their menu.  They also have their fresh catches of the day.  It comes with potatoes and fresh vegetables.  The price varies.

Below are some pictures of the inside of the restaurant:

I had one of the fresh catches of the day - scallops.  I had them blackened.  The scallops are really large and are cooked perfectly.  I can actually never eat all four that they give me.  Brad is always nice enough to eat one of them for me ;-)  The potatoes are really good.  I also like to dip them in the sauce that covers the scallops.  The vegetable are cooked nicely too, but I rarely finish those.  Again, it is the whole cooked carrots thing...

Brad tried the Blackened Amberjack with the crawfish maque choux and cheese grits.  The fish was great.  Again, we love to get our food cooked blackened here.  The flavor is always so nice.  The grits were also really great.  Not the best cheese grits I had ever tried, but they were still good.  I did not care for the crawfish maque choux.  To me, the flavor with the fish just didn't go well together.

Even though we were all extremely full, Brad really wanted the bread pudding, so we all decided to get desserts!

I tried the key lime pie.    It is surrounded with strawberries, blueberries, raspberry sauce, and whipped cream.  It is also lightly topped with powdered sugar.  It was good for sure, but I couldn't finish it all.

Brad ordered the bread pudding.  It was covered with caramel, whipped cream, and had strawberries and blueberries on the side.  I didn't try it, but Brad really liked it.  He finished it all but one piece.

Brad's dad ordered the peanut butter fudge pie.  It too looked amazing and he loved it.  I didn't try it though.
