China Cabinet Makeover

China Cabinet Makeover

With our recent floor remodel, it gave me the opportunity to makeover our china cabinet.

Below is what it looked like two years ago:

Below is what it looked like a month ago:

I decided to order some clear plate stands from Amazon as well as two plate racks.  The only negative with the plate stands is that two were broken out of the twelve.  They were so inexpensive, it wasn't worth complaining to Amazon, but it is something to consider if you are thinking about purchasing them.

I decided to put the plate racks on opposite sides and positions of the china cabinet.  I used four salad plates and four dessert plates on each.  I then used three plate stands to display one place setting on opposite sides and positions of the china cabinet.  The plate stands held the dinner, salad, and dessert plates.  I placed the bowl and teacup/saucer in front of the plates.

The top-middle shelf is the only shelf with a light.  I wanted to display some of my stemware here.  First, I displayed one of the larger serving dishes from our China collection on a plate stand.  I used four of our Lenox stemware pieces and then the two champagne flutes from our wedding.  I also placed a teacup candle that I received from my cousin's bridal shower for a touch of color.

The second shelf is my Disney shelf.  I have my Disney dessert plates, a Mickey Mouse trivet, and my Disney salt and pepper shakers.

The last shelf has some of our wedding items and some of our China pieces on it.
