Tealight Candle Favors
For my best friend's baby shower, I decided to make the favors simple but cute. I wanted something that people might would actually use at some point. A lot of times you go to showers and weddings and end up with favors that you just throw away. I did some research and decided to use candles somehow. I mean people can always find a purpose for candles. Using washi tape, I was able to make some cute and decorative tea light candles for everyone to take home. Check it out below!
Items Needed
- Tea Light Candles (I did 3 per favor)
- Washi Tape
- Scissors
- Tulle
- Thin Ribbon
- Basket (optional)
Instructions
1. Measure the length you need for the tape by wrapping the tape around a tea light candle. Be sure and give yourself some wiggle room.
2. Cut the tape the length you have just determined you needed
3. Continue cutting the tape for as many candles as you will be doing. I used a variety of patterned tape so that each favor had 3 different patterns in it.
4. Now attach the tape onto the tea light candle. Be sure and stretch it enough that it doesn't have weird creases but don't stretch it so much that you lose the pattern.
5. Be sure and fold the tape under the bottom of the candle as well
6. Continue this process for all the tea light candles
7. Stack the 3 tea light candles on top of each other (or the number you plan to use)
8. Measure how much tulle you will need to cover the 3 candles as well as having some additional tulle at the top for décor (I cut about 7 inches worth of tulle for each favor)
9. Cut all the tulle you will need for the favors
10. Measure how much ribbon you will need to tie around the tulle (I cut about 6 inches worth to have a nice bow)
11. Cut all the ribbon you will need for the favors
12. Now assemble! Put the 3 candles in the center of the tulle; gather the tulle at the top; then tie the ribbon around the tulle.
13. All done! I put the favors in a cute basket to have at the baby shower, but you can display any way that suits the event you are giving this out at.
